More Salt Water Warranty Options

December 2, 2009, Southeastern Metals Mfg, Jacksonville, FL – A leading Manufacturer of Metal Roofing has tailored its paint systems to provide you with additional Salt Water Warranty options.

In addition to our “Semcoat Plus” (Kynar) Salt Water Warranty, Southeastern Metals now offers a similar warranty for “SemCoat SP” (Siliconized Polyester). Typically, salt water warranties are only offered through certain Kynar paint systems and are unheard of in a Siliconized Polyester system.

“The goal is to offer as many colors and profiles as possible for nearly every application, this helps accomplish that” said Jim Horton (Southeastern Metals New Products Developer).

Saltwater & Marine Environment Warranty Guidelines

This is to advise that Southeastern Metals Manufacturing Co. Inc. is issuing a revision to the SEMCOAT PLUS-KYNAR Warranty as well as the SEMCOAT SP-Siliconized Polyester Warranty. These revisions are all related to Saltwater and Marine Environments which are defined as all installations within 1(one) mile of Saltwater. 

Revisions to the SEMCOAT PLUS-KYNAR & SEMCOAT SP-SILICONIZED POLYESTER Warranty are outlined below:
There is no warranty within the set back limitations described below;

1000 feet from a coastline with surf conditions.

800 feet from the coast line of a large bay.

400 feet from marshes, rivers, or canals.

Within one mile of saltwater marine environment all applications require an annual maintenance program of the building in the form of a third party verified annual “sweet water” (fresh tap water) rinse in accordance with AAMA 610.1-1979 (copy available upon request). The product must not be cleaned with abrasive or chemical cleaners. Home owner is required to keep records of such maintenance for warranty to be enforceable.

Additional Limitations to the SEMCOAT PLUS-KYNAR warranty term

Metallic colors (Copper Penny and Silver Dollar) have limited terms of 20 years in a Salt Water and Marine environment.
