Southeastern Metals Launches New CopperXT Product Line
Southeastern Metals, a Gibraltar Industries company, announced in July the introduction of a new line of products made with CopperXT, a composite alloy manufactured by bonding layers of copper with a stainless steel core.
Now, for less than the cost of solid copper products, homeowners are able to enjoy the ageless charm of copper with a little something extra--the rugged strength of stainless steel. Over time, products manufactured with CopperXT will age and patina the same as solid copper and the stainless core allows for better formability and added durability.
Extensive testing and field applications have shown the product's remarkable ability to withstand some of the harshest environmental conditions, including heavy winds, rain, hail, falling debris and even highly corrosive saltwater spray. Southeastern Metals guarantees each of its preformed products with a 50-year material replacement guarantee, one of the only guarantees of its kind in the industry today.
With the initial product launch, Southeastern Metals introduced a series of roofing trims and flashings, including eave drip, preformed valley and roof edge. The company plans to add metal roofing panels and ventilation products to the offering in the coming months.
