Tips to Get Your Roofing Company’s Marketing Efforts on Track in 2016

numbersThe start of a new year is an ideal time to focus on your objectives for your roofing business for the next 12 months. Begin by evaluating your goals and how your marketing strategy will play into those – and create a winning plan for the entire year. Here are some proven tips to help you make 2016 your best year yet.

Establish your business goals. Many contractors are so busy working on jobs that they neglect to set goals for their business. To maintain and grow your business, we recommend starting with a list of three to five goals that you want to achieve during the coming year. They should be realistic and easy to track.

Examine where your leads are coming from. Look at how much you’re spending on various media channels, and how many leads they are actually generating. If you aren’t sure, begin aggressively tracking where your leads are coming from by using tracking phone numbers, website analysis and asking customers how they found you. Focus the most spending on those media that are giving you the best return.

Make sure your online directory listings are current. Google estimates that 97% of consumers search out a local business online prior to making a purchase. Increase your online visibility by ensuring your current business contact information is listed in multiple online directories, and that the information is consistent across all directories. The easier you are to find online, the more traffic you will get to your website and the more leads you will generate.

Get social. If you are not active on social media, try posting at least once a week. Incorporate photos of completed projects to demonstrate your workmanship, and tips related to roofing and roof maintenance that will establish you as an authority in the industry. Include links back to your website so prospects can learn more about your company and its services.

Track your progress. Keep track of how you are progressing toward your goals using a software platform that can manage leads, estimates, jobs in progress and completions.
